MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Head Coach Daron Schoenrock and the 2007 University of Memphis baseball team's successful season was recognized this morning by Shelby County Mayor A.C. Wharton as he proclaimed July 5, 2007, University of Memphis Baseball Team and Coach Daron Schoenrock Appreciation Day in Shelby County in a ceremony held at the Shelby County Mayor's Office.

The proclamation recognized Schoenrock's 2007 Tigers for its successful season in which they made their first NCAA Regional appearance since 1994, posted the most wins since 1994, compiled the most regular season wins since 1994 and finished with back-to-back 30-win seasons for the first time since the 1994 and 1995 campaigns. In addition it noted Memphis' second consecutive top-four finish in the Conference USA regular season standings, as well as the Tigers' second straight semifinal finish in the C-USA Championships.

The Proclamation also honored Coach Schoenrock for his contributions in advancing the winning tradition in Tiger Athletics.

Memphis enjoyed its most successful season in 13 years in 2007, as the Tigers posted a 36-27 mark and broke a 13-year absence from postseason play, when they were selected as the No. 3 seed in the Nashville Regional.
