Aug. 8, 2011
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis baseball program will host its Labor Day Showcase Camp on Monday, September 5 head coach Daron Schoenrock announced today. The one-day clinic is for high school players only and will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at FedExPark.
Camp fee is $150 per player, which includes lunch and a camp T-shirt. Space is limited so potential campers are encouraged to sign up soon by registering online at www.memphistigerbaseballcamps.com.
Camp participants should bring their baseball glove, hat, bat, pants, batting gloves, cleats, and tennis shoes.
Campers will be instructed and evaluated by the U of M baseball staff as well as local college coaches and professional scouts. The camp, which is available to the serious high school baseball players only, will consist of a pro-style workout, positional instruction and games in which campers can compete against one another. All participants will receive personal evaluations from their workouts in addition to instruction on areas in which to improve.
At the conclusion of the session, a brief recruiting seminar will be held to give players an overview on what coaches are looking for and other areas of the recruitment process, such as how to promote themselves to college programs and professional organizations.
