MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis baseball team is set to hold its first Blue-Gray game of the Dave Anderson era on Saturday afternoon. The game, originally scheduled for 1 p.m., has been moved up to start at noon so that Tiger fans can get home to see Memphis play Southern Mississippi in football on television at 2:30 p.m.

This will be the coaching debut of the new head baseball coach and Tiger baseball alumnus Dave Anderson, who has had an impressive career as a major league player and a successful minor-league manager. Anderson leads a team that lost 10 seniors and one junior from last season's roster, but has added seven newcomers. The Tigers have a solid core of experience returning from last year's squad, including five positional starters and seven pitchers. Three Tiger sophomores who sat out a majority of last season due to injuries are returning, as well.

The Tiger baseball team is in the middle of its fall practice schedule, and this is the first opportunity for Tiger fans to come see the squad in a game atmosphere. The game will be played at Nat Buring Stadium.
