MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Tigers released their 2002 baseball schedule today which features a total of 14 games to be played at AutoZone Park and also non-conference contests with SEC opponents Ole Miss and Vanderbilt and also Big 12 power Oklahoma State.

The Tigers will open the season on the road at UT-Martin on Feb. 20 and then return home for the Service Academy Classic during the weekend of Feb. 22-24. Memphis' first six home games will then take place at AutoZone with the home opener coming against the Rebels on March 5. The Commodores will also visit the downtown park on March 20.

Memphis has home-and-home series versus Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Middle Tennesssee, Ole Miss, Southeast Missouri State, Southwest Missouri State and Vanderbilt.

The U of M will then begin C-USA play with a three-game series during the weekend of Mar. 22-24 against South Florida at AutoZone, before venturing to Stillwater, Ok. for a two-game set with the Cowboys from OSU from Mar. 26-27.

The Tigers also host three league series at their regular home within Nat Buring Stadium, including 2001 College World Series participant and C-USA tournament champion Tulane from April 5-7, UAB on April 20-21and Charlotte from May 16-18. AutoZone will also serve as the site of four other conference contests beginning with the first game of the UAB series on April 19 and also a full three-game set versus league newcomer East Carolina from April 26-28, who finished last season ranked 11th by Baseball America.
