MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Today, GoTigersGo.com begins a 100 day countdown to first pitch of the 2013 season, the 100th year of University of Memphis Baseball.

Each day, a fact or stat about the 100-year history of Memphis Baseball will be posted on the twitter account for U of M baseball, @UofMBaseball . On Friday of each week beginning November 16, check GoTigersGo.com for a weekly recap of the seven facts of the previous week.

To begin the countdown to first pitch against Illinois State on Friday, February 15, we look no further than the first game on April 4, 1913. At Memorial Field on the current U of M campus, Baxter Crawford earned the win with eight strikeouts in a 6-4 victory over the University of Tennessee-Doctors, now referred to as UT Graduate School of Medicine.
