@MemphisBaseball Adds Cody Duncan to 2015 Roster
Nov. 18, 2013
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis head baseball coach Daron Schoenrock announced Monday that Arlington High School shortstop Cody Duncan will join the program in the 2015 season.
Duncan has lettered three years for coach Chris Ring where the team claimed two district championships, two regional titles and one state championship in 2012 following a 32-11 mark. Last season, Duncan hit .388 and is averaging .340 over his career.
“Cody’s rapid advancement of his tools and skills to defend at shortstop and pressure the defense offensively really excites us,” Schoenrock said. “We feel Cody can compete for playing time very early as a Tiger. He continues to get stronger and we look forward to the impact he will have on our program. His work ethic effects players around and will fit in very nicely in our locker room.”
Duncan has been selected to the all-region, all-metro and to the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association teams during his time at AHS.
He is the son of Chris and Shonda Duncan.
