Postgame Notes Memphis moves to 5-0 this season, its first 5-0 start since 2007-08. The Tigers have now dispatched the Skyhawks 12 times in a row, dating back to the 1928-29 season. Memphis is now 101-62 all-time against the Ohio Valley Conference; the Tigers last loss to an OVC foe was to Austin Peay, 82-81, in an overtime tilt on Nov. 22, 2002. Season-high 29 assists for the Tigers as a team, led by Joe Jackson, Will Barton and Chris Crawford, who each had a career-high six. Six assists is also the high for an individual Tiger this season. Junior Angel Garcia dominated against the Skyhawks, pulling in a season-high in points (15) and a career-high in rebounds (nine). Senior Will Coleman came off the bench for a career-high 20 points, making a career-best eight shots from the field. Freshman Will Barton had 20 points, his second 20-point or better performance in five games this year. Junior Wesley Witherspoon missed just one shot, a free-throw, en route to 14 points, his fourth consecutive double-digit scoring performance. With Coleman and Will Barton each scoring 20 points, the bench contributed a season-high 60 points this evening. The Tigers put up a season-high 60 points in the first half, the highest total since the 2005 Tigers scored 65 second half points on Lamar, on Nov. 28, to win 108-83. The Memphis defense started strong, coming up with eight steals in the game's first eight minutes, but slacked off late, finishing with 11 for the game. Tennessee Martin cut the lead to six with 13:59 to go in the first half, but the Tigers embarked on an 18-4 run over the next 3:25 and the lead never dipped below 15 points for the rest of the contest. After starting the season 0-for-6 from beyond the arc, Will Barton is now 9-for-18 for three in his last three contests.
