PROVIDENCE, R.I.-- A limited number of tickets to the inaugural American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship are now available to the general public through the University of Memphis athletics ticket office as well as through member institutions' ticket offices, the league office announced Monday.

The 2014 American Athletic Conference Championship will be played at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn., Mar. 12-15. All 10 American Athletic Conference teams will compete for the league title, including 2013 NCAA champion Louisville, which is one of the eight conference teams that have reached the NCAA Final Four. Five of the 10 American Athletic Conference teams (Cincinnati, UConn, Louisville, Memphis, SMU) were either ranked or received votes in the Jan. 6 Associated Press top-25 poll.

The 2014 championship will begin with two first-round games Wednesday, Mar. 12. Two quarterfinal doubleheaders will be played Thursday, Mar. 13, followed by a semifinal doubleheader Friday, Mar. 14. The final will take place Saturday, Mar. 15.

The ticket packages made available to the general public Monday, covering all nine games of the championship, are priced at $175. Tickets will be available online at TheAmerican.org/MBB. Purchasers will be notified of their exact seat locations at a later date. Seat locations will be prioritized by the date and time of purchase.

Fans interested in purchasing tickets through member schools may contact the respective school's athletics ticket office.

FedExForum, one of the nation's premier basketball venues, has a seating capacity of 18,400. It is located off historic Beale Street and its vibrant and popular entertainment district. In addition to the first American Athletic Conference Championship, FedExForum is the home to the University of Memphis men's basketball team and the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. Following this year's American Championship, FedExForum will host the 2014 NCAA Championship South Regional (Sweet 16 and Elite 8).
