The University of Memphis will take on Tulsa in next Tuesday's semifinals of the TiVo NIT in New York City's Madison Sqaure Garden.

Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. CT next Tuesday and both semifinal games will be broadcast by ESPN. The other semifinal pits Detroit against the winner of Friday's game between Alabama and Purdue.

The Tigers defeated New Mexico 81-63 on Thursday to advance to the semifinals and will take on Tulsa, a 77-75 winner against Mississippi State earlier this week. The Golden Hurricane, 24-11, won their last two on the road, including a 76-73 overtime win at Minnesota to have its ticket to New York punched.

Tulsa has five players averaging in double figuress led by Kevin Johnson who is averaging 13.8 points and 7.1 rebounds. The Golden Hurricane advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight last year.

Memphis, 20-14, had to go on the road to win its first game in the NIT, defeating Utah 71-62 before outscoring UTEP and New Mexico by an average of 21 points this week.
