University of Memphis sophomore center Kelly Wise and freshman point guard Courtney Trask were named co-most valuable players of the 1999-2000 Tiger basketball season at the annual U of M Basketball Awards Night hosted by the Rebounders Club.

Wise averaged 14.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while shooting 56.1 percent from the floor this season. He was named third-team all-Conference USA. Trask emerged as the starter at point guard early in the year and went on to average 9.4 points and 4.5 assists. He set a league, freshman record with 89 assists in Conference USA games and was named to C-USA's all-freshman team.

Juniors Marcus Moody and Shannon Forman were selected co-captains for the 1999-2000 season. Forman was also named the best defensive player. Freshman center Earl Barron was named the most improved player while Shamel Jones, who was the first player off the bench a team-high 14 times, received the sixth-man award. The John Gunn Memorial Mr. Hustle award went to Shyrone Chatman while Paris London was the recipient of the Paul Hartlage Memorial Award. The academic award went to Aaron Mulvagh.

Kevin True was recognized as the fan of the year, receiving the Rebounders Club's Dennis Dugan Memorial No. 1 Tiger Fan award.
