MEMPHIS, TENN. - The University of Memphis will serve as the host of the 2009 South Regional of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, with three games set to be played at FedExForum, March 27 & 29.

Ticket packages, which cover all three games of the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight, are $166. Applications will be accepted until May 15, and tickets will be assigned in the order that applications are received.

"We are delighted to have been selected as a Regional host for the 2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament," said Memphis Athletic Director R.C. Johnson. "The University has a long history of hosting collegiate basketball tournaments and we look forward to having the 2009 Sweet 16 and Elite Eight at FedExForum. I know the teams will enjoy the hospitality of the Mid-South."

Fans wishing to submit a ticket application for a package that will include all three games can do so now at www.ncaa.com/tickets. If the demand for tickets exceeds supply, a random drawing will be held to select ticket recipients. Applicants will be notified in June if they are selected to receive tickets. Tickets will be delivered in mid-February 2009. Those not selected to receive tickets will be given refunds.

"The NCAA men's basketball tournament is one of the most prestigious events in American sports, and we're extremely proud and excited to partner with the University of Memphis to host the South Regional," said Steve Zito, Senior Vice President, Arena Operations and Entertainment for FedExForum. "With the earlier announcement that FedExForum will again host the Conference USA men's basketball tournament in 2009, next spring is shaping up as a basketball-lover's dream in Memphis."
