Chris Douglas-Roberts earned the Conference USA preseason Player of the Year honor as the Tigers are picked to win third-straight league title.

Chris Douglas-Roberts named to the 2007-08 John R. Wooden Award preseason top-50 list.

January 27, 2008: Douglas-Roberts, Rose Named To Wooden Award Mid-Season List
Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose were two of 30 collegiate players from across the country named to the 2008 John R. Wooden Award Mid-Season List. Douglas-Roberts was one of the 19 Wooden Award preseason candidates that made the mid-season list. Rose was one of 11 new additions for the postseason honor.

January 29, 2008: Douglas-Roberts, Rose Named To Naismith Trophy Mid-Season List
Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose were two of 30 collegiate players from across the country named to the 2008 Naismith Trophy Mid-Season List. Memphis is one of five schools with at least two players on the Naismith Trophy Mid-Season List.

February 1, 2008: Rose Named A 2008 Cousy Award Finalist
Derrick Rose named one of 16 finalists for the 2008 Bob Cousy Award. Rose is the second Memphis player to be selected a Cousy Award finalist, as former Tiger Antonio Burks was up for the honor in 2004.

February 18, 2008: Douglas-Roberts Named Collegehoops.net Player of the Week
Chris Douglas-Roberts was named collegehoops.net national Player of the Week for Feb. 12-18.

February 18, 2008: CDR Named C-USA Player of the Week
Chris Douglas-Roberts was named Conference USA Player of the Week for Feb. 12-18.

March 4, 2008: Douglas-Roberts, Rose Named To NABC All-District 7 First Team
Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose were named to the 2007-08 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 7 first team. It was the second-straight year Douglas-Roberts earned NABC All-District honors, while it was a first-time honor for both Rose and Dorsey. It is the seventh-consecutive season a Tiger was named to the NABC All-District squad.

March 5, 2008: Douglas-Roberts, Calipari Nominees For National Player, Coach of Year Honors.
Chris Douglas-Roberts and head coach John Calipari were nominated for the U.S. Basketball Writers of America's (USBWA) National Player and Coach of the Year awards, respectively.

John Calipari is one of 12 coaches nominated for the Iba Award, given to the National Coach of the Year.


March 9, 2008: Douglas-Roberts, Rose Double Winners at Tigers Team Banquet Sunday
Each of the 13 Tigers took home one honor, including junior Chris Douglas-Roberts and freshman Derrick Rose, both of whom were double award winners. Douglas-Roberts received the team's Leading Scorer Award and the squad's Most Valuable Player accolade, while Rose was honored with the Tigers' Newcomer and Playmaker Awards.

March 10, 2008: Douglas-Roberts' Three-Point Play At UAB Up For Pontiac Game Changing Performance
Douglas-Roberts' clutch three-point play was one of eight pivotal plays that was nominated by CBS from the 2007-08 NCAA® men's basketball regular season.

March 10, 2008: Four Tigers Earn All-Conference USA Honors
Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose were named to the All-C-USA first team, while Joey Dorsey made the league's second team and Robert Dozier the third team.

March 10, 2008: Dorsey Named Conference USA Co-Player Of The Week
Joey Dorsey was named the Conference USA co-Player of the Week for Mar. 3-9.

March 10, 2008: Douglas-Roberts, Rose Named Wooden Award Finalists
Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose are two of 24 players from across the nation named to the final John R. Wooden Award ballot. Memphis was one of four schools to have two players on the final ballot. The other three schools were Indiana, Tennessee and UCLA.

Derrick Rose joins teammate Chris Douglas-Roberts among the 24 finalists for the Wooden Award.


March 11, 2008: Dorsey, Anderson, Rose Earn C-USA Specialty Honors
Joey Dorsey picked up C-USA's Defensive Player of the Year award and was named to the league's All-Defensive Team. Joining Dorsey on the C-USA All-Defensive Team was Antonio Anderson. Derrick Rose earned the conference's Freshman of the Year award and was a C-USA All-Freshman Team selection.

March 11, 2008: Douglas-Roberts Named USBWA District 4 Player Of The Year
Chris Douglas-Roberts was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) District 4 Player of the Year. Derrick Rose joined Douglas-Roberts on the USBWA All-District 4 squad. Memphis was one of two schools in District 4 - that includes the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Georgia - to place two players on the squad.

March 12, 2008: Tiger Basketball Makes A Sweep Of Conference USA's Top Honors
For the second time in the last three years, it was a clean sweep for the University of Memphis basketball team with Conference USA's top postseason awards. A day after Derrick Rose received the league's Freshman of the Year honor, Chris Douglas-Roberts was named the Conference USA Player of the Year and head coach John Calipari C-USA's Coach of the Year.

March 12, 2008: Calipari One Of Four Finalists For 2008 Naismith Coach Of The Year
John Calipari was named one of four finalists for the 2008 Naismith Coach of the Year award. The other three finalists for the 2008 Naismith Coach of the Year award are Drake's Keno Davis, Purdue's Matt Painter and Tennessee's Bruce Pearl.

March 12, 2008: Douglas-Roberts Named To Sporting News, Sports Illustrated All-America teams
Chris Douglas-Roberts was named to The Sporting News and Sports Illustrated All-America first teams. Rose was a Sporting News All-Freshman Team pick.

March 12, 2008: Calipari Named Jim Phelan National Coach Of The Year Finalist
John Calipari was named one of 10 finalists for the 2008 Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year award. It is the second-consecutive year Calipari was up for the honor, as he was a Jim Phelan Coach of the Year finalist in 2007.

Chris Douglas-Roberts was an ESPN.com All-America first team pick and a Naismith Men's College Player of the Year finalist.


March 13, 2008: Douglas-Roberts Named To ESPN.com All-America First Team
ESPN.com named Chris Douglas-Roberts to its All-America first team, marking the third All-America squad honor this week.

March 16, 2008: Tigers Earn South Region's No. 1 Seed
Memphis earned the South Region No. 1 seed after capturing another C-USA Championship with just one blemish all season.

March 17, 2008: Douglas-Roberts Named To USBWA All-America First Team
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) named Chris Douglas-Roberts to its All-America first team, marking the fourth All-America squad honor he has received this postseason. Douglas-Roberts is the first Tiger to earn USBWA All-America first team honors since Anfernee Hardaway did so in 1993.

March 24, 2008: Chris Douglas-Roberts Named Naismith Men's College Player of the Year Finalist
Chris Douglas-Roberts was named one of four finalists for the 2008 Naismith Men's College Player of the Year Award presented by AT&T. He was joined on the list of finalists by Michael Beasley (Kansas State), Tyler Hansbrough (North Carolina) and Kevin Love (UCLA).

April 8, 2008: NCAA All-Tournament Team, Tournament Leaders
Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 140 points during the NCAA tournament - more than any other player - and Derrick Rose finished with 125, good for the third-highest output. Both Tigers were named to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team, and Memphis finished with an NCAA-record 38 victories.
