MEMPHIS, Tenn. -Well, Tiger Nation is getting what it's been waiting on since the end of the 2012-13 basketball season with Wednesday's announcement of the University of Memphis' 2013-14 schedule. Here are the highlights of the Tigers' 2013-14 slate:

• Twenty-five of 31 regular-season games on national television (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews, CBS Sports, CBS Sports Network)
• Could play up to 10 opponents that were 2013 postseason participants, including eight NCAA Tournament (Butler, Cincinnati, Florida, Gonzaga, Louisville, Northwestern State, Oklahoma State, Temple), one NIT (Saint Joseph's) and one CBI (Purdue)
• Faces two of the last three NCAA champions (Connecticut in 2011, Louisville in 2013) a total of four times
• Plays the No. 1 ranked team in last season's final Associated Press poll (Gonzaga)
• First season in the new American Athletic Conference
• League schedule is the Tigers' first true home-and-home round-robin since 1994-95, the program's last season in the Great Midwest Conference
• Schedule includes 18 conference games, the most for a season in the program's history
• Plays lone exhibition game versus Christian Brothers Nov. 8
• Hosts season/home opener against Austin Peay Nov. 14
• Plays road opener at Oklahoma State Nov. 19, the program's earliest road opener since the 1990-91 season
• Tips off American Athletic Conference play Dec. 31 at USF, the earliest league opener since 2006-07 when Memphis hosted Marshall Dec. 4, 2006
• Hosts American Athletic Conference home opener Jan. 4 versus Cincinnati
• Faces LeMoyne-Owen College Jan. 18, the first time an NCAA Division II opponent is on the schedule since 2001-02 (Christian Brothers)
• Hosts the inaugural American Athletic Conference Tournament Mar. 12-15

Earlier this summer, Memphis announced its participation in three ESPN-affiliated events. The Tigers are slated to play in the Old Spice (Nov. 28-Dec. 1) and Jimmy V (Dec. 17) Classics, in addition to hosting ESPN Gameday Feb. 8.

Memphis officially opens preseason practice Oct. 3, but Memphis Madness - the Tigers' annual preseason celebration tip-off - is scheduled for Oct. 18.
