Memphis Athletics Holding Final Select-A-Seat At FedExForum Thursday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. –As the countdown clock ticks closer to Friday’s Memphis Madness, the University of Memphis Athletics Department announced Monday that it is holding its final “select-a-seat” for remaining 2013-14 season tickets this week.
The Tigers’ “Select-a-Seat” event is set for Thursday, Oct. 17 from 4:30-7 p.m. (CT) at FedExForum. Free parking for “Select-a-Seat” is available in the Toyota Garage, which is located next to FedExForum.
Great seats in the plaza, club and terrace levels still remain for Memphis’ 18-game home schedule, which includes contests against national powers like Cincinnati, 2011 NCAA champion Connecticut, Gonzaga and 2013 NCAA champion Louisville. Tiger Scholarship Fund and ticket office representatives will be on hand to show fans the best seats available.

While down at FedExForum for Thursday’s “Select-a-Seat,” fans also can pick up their Memphis Madness tickets at the arena’s box office. A limited number of tickets will be available at FedExForum’s box office Thursday and Friday.
For fans who want to get their tickets earlier can do so by stopping at either the Cordova or Southaven Ashley Furniture HomeStores through Wednesday, Oct. 16. The Winchester Road and Summer Avenue Ashley Furniture HomeStores locations are out of Memphis Madness tickets.
The Cordova location has approximately 300 tickets left, and the Southaven store has around 500 tickets remaining. Those picking up tickets at the Cordova and Southaven Ashley Furniture HomeStore locations are limited to four per person or a total of 8 per household.
Doors for Memphis Madness, presented by Ashley Furniture HomeStores, open at 6:30 p.m. (CT), with the on-the-court program to start around 7:30 p.m. (CT). The festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. (CT) with entertainment from the Tigers cheerleader and pom squads, the Mighty Sound of the South and a live DJ on FedExForum’s outdoor plaza.
Autograph vouchers will be given to the first 1,000 fans entering the arena that night, and the men’s squad will sign autographs from approximately 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. (CT).
After the autograph session ends, the attention turns inside the arena where the Tigers’ redesigned homecourt will be unveiled around 7:45 p.m. (CT). The women’s squad introductions will take place around 7:50 p.m. (CT), followed by the men’s team introductions at 8:05 p.m. (CT).
Once the team introductions are complete, the schedule features a Tigers dunk contest and scrimmage. Two additional contests – Ashley Furniture HomeStore’s Half-Court Shot and Wing Stop’s Wing Eating – will include participation from Tigers fans.
Special entertainment also is scheduled for Memphis Madness.
