The University of Memphis men's basketball team will hold a controlled scrimmage Wednesday in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse on the U of M campus from 2-3:30 p.m.

U of M first-year coach John Calipari has continued to look for ways to connect Memphis students with the team and Wednesday's scrimmage is just another way to bring Tiger basketball to the student body. Prior to Memphis Madness, the team gathered at the Tiger Den, one of the on-campus eateries, for a pre-Madness rally. At Memphis Madness, students were seated at center court.

Memphis will play its first exhibition game of the preseason Nov. 2 when the Tigers play host to the Universal All-Stars. The U of M's first, regular-season game is Nov. 17 against Temple.
