MEMPHIS, Tenn. -University of Memphis graduate student David Pellom underwent arthroscopic debridement surgery on his left knee, Tigers head coach Josh Pastner announced Thursday. Dr. Barry Phillips of Campbell Clinic performed the surgery earlier today.
Pellom, a transfer from George Washington University, is expected to be sidelined for five weeks. The 6-foot-7, 224-pound forward was experiencing some knee discomfort from an injury suffered earlier in his collegiate career at George Washington.
"It was a simple and minor procedure, and we expect David back in no time," said Pastner.
The Tigers, ranked No. 13 in both national polls, host Christian Brothers in exhibition play Friday, Nov. 8 at FedExForum. Game time is 7 p.m. (CT).
