Memphis senior forward Shamel Jones suffered a broken hand in Friday's practice while U of M coach John Calipari finished drills by announcing junior forward John Grice and sophomore guard Courtney Trask had been suspended indefitely for breaking team rules.

Jones suffered a spiral fracture to the third metacarpal of his shooting hand when he dived for a loose ball during Friday's practice. He is expected to undergo surgery on Saturday and will likely miss two to four weeks.

"Adversity hits every team," Calipari said. "We just have to respond with the players we have left."

Memphis begins a three-game home stand Saturday when it plays host to undefeated Mississippi. The Pyramid is sold out for the game.
