Redshirted in 2010 as a true freshman...Had the opportunity to learn from veteran linebackers Jamon Hughes and Winston Bowens...Received the Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year Award at the team banquet...Had a solid spring, and is expected to add depth at linebacker in 2011...Received an Iron Tiger Award and the Rex Dockery Memorial Award at the 2011 Blue-Gray Game.

Was a member of the Tiger 3.0 Club for the fall 2010 and spring 2011 semesters...Earned recognition as a Tiger Academic 30 for spring 2011, which honors the top 30 student-athletes in the athletic department each semester...Posted a 4.0 grade point average in spring 2011, and was named to the U of M Dean's List.


Played for coach Devin Rutherford at White Station High...Listed as a three-star linebacker by Rivals.com...Ranked No. 21 on Rivals.com's Tennessee Midseason Top 25...Named Class 6A all-state and was an all-district selection as a linebacker...Was a team captain in 2008 and 2009...Also tabbed as an all-metro honoree...Helped squad to a 13-2 record and a Class 6A state championship in 2009...Registered 89 tackles, including 13 sacks as a senior...Was a Best of the Preps selection by the Memphis Commercial Appeal...Was selected to play in the Liberty Bowl All-Star game...Posted a season-high 10 tackles against MUS...Recorded 78 solo tackles and 21 sacks as a junior...Blocked a punt in 2008...Also tallied 62 tackles, including eight sacks in 2007...As a freshman, posted 100 tackles and was selected as an all-region and all-metro honoree for his efforts.
