Defensive leader for a Memphis team which captured a share of the 2014 American Athletic Conference championship and won the inaugural Miami Beach Bowl with a 55-48, double-overtime win over BYU ... Helped lead Memphis to its first conference title since 1971 and just the program's second, 10-win season ... The 2014 season marked Memphis' first, 10-win season since 1938 ... Memphis closed out the year with a seven-game winning streak ... Memphis finished the year ranked 11th nationally in scoring defense (19.5 ppg) and third in red zone defense, allowing opponents to convert on just 68.8 percent of drives inside the 20 ... Led Memphis' defense to 92 total tackles including 15.5 tackles for loss (-63 yards) and six quarterback sacks (-36 yards) ... With his activeness in opponents' backfield, finished the year with the eighth-most tackles for loss in a season while his 32.5 career TFLs ranks eighth all-time at Memphis ... Following the Tigers' bowl win over BYU, ranked 16th nationally in forced fumbles at 0.31 per game ... His 5.4 solo tackles per game ranked 42nd nationally ... In addition to four forced fumbles, had an interception, three pass breakups and two quarterback hurries during the 2014 season ... Led Memphis in total tackles seven times during the season -- vs Austin Peay (6), at UCLA (12), vs Middle Tennessee (7), at Ole Miss 98), at Cincinnati (10), vs USF (10) and vs UConn (9) ... Was named the Athlon Sports' Conference Player of the Week for the American following the UCLA game ... Against the Bruins, had 12 total tackles including 11 solo stops ... In addition to his first double-digit tackle game, set a new career standard with four tackles for loss (-24 yards) including two sacks (-13 yards) ... Also forced a fumble and broke up a pass in the Rose Bowl ... Against Middle Tennessee, registered seven tackles (six solo stops) including three tackles for lost yardage (-12 yards) and two quarterback sacks (-11 yards) ... One of the sacks against MTSU resulted in a safety, giving the Tigers a 9-0, first-quarter lead ... It was Memphis' first safety since the 2003 season (128 games) ... Also against MTSU, forced a fourth-quarter fumble that was scooped up by teammate Bobby McCain and returned 59 yards for a touchdown ... Ended MTSU's next fourth-quarter drive with an interception ... Against Middle Tennessee, became the first Memphis player since 2001 to have an interception, force a fumble and be credited with a quarterback sack in the same game ... At Cincinnati, led Memphis with 10 total tackles including nine in the first half as the Tigers built a 27-7 halftime lead ... Had three tackles for lost yardage (-15 yards), two quarterback sacks (-12 yards) and two quarterback hurries in the conference-opening victory ... With Memphis in front 17-7 late in the first quarter of the Cincinnati game, had back-to-back quarterback sacks ... On the second sack, stripped UC quarterback Gunner Kiel of the ball and the Tigers would recover at the Cincinnati 11 ... Memphis would score three plays later to take a 24-7 lead ... 2013 (Junior)

Ranked second on the squad with 71 total tackles ... Led the Tigers with 48 solo stops ... Active defender had no fewer than five tackles in all but two games during junior season ... With 8.5 tackles for lost yardage (-40 yards), ranked third on the team in the statistical category and most by a linebacker ... Credited with 3.0 quarterback sacks (-25 yards) from his linebacker position ... Played in all 12 games and started two games during the year, his first career starts ... Began the year with five tackles including one for lost yardage against Duke ... Seven-tackle performance at Middle Tennessee was the first of a team-high seven games in which he led the squad in tackles ... Among his six solo tackles in the Tigers' inaugural American Athletic Conference game against UCF were two tackles for lost yards (-15 yards) including a quarterback sack for a loss of 13 yards ... Also forced a fumble on a late game goal line stand by the Tigers but unfortunately the ball was recovered in the end zone by the Knights for a game-tying touchdown ... Notched a career-high nine tackles including 2.5 for lost yardage (-10 yards) at Houston ... Earned first career start against SMU and had a team-high eight tackles including one stop for a two-yard loss ... Also started against Cincinnati and had six tackles ... Seven tackles against UT Martin and six tackles at USF in back-to-back wins were both team highs for those contests ... Had five solo tackles at Louisville including one for a nine-yard loss ... Closed out the year with four tackles in final home game against Temple and five tackles at UConn.

2012 (Sophomore)

Tallied 48 total tackles including 8.5 for lost yardage (32 yards) and two quarterback sacks ... Ranked third on the team in tackles for loss and sixth on the squad in total tackles ... First collegiate tackle came in the opener against UT Martin and established a career high for tackles for loss with two (-5 yards) against Middle Tennessee ... Middle Tennessee game was the first of three straight in which he registered a tackle for loss ... Equaled an early, career high with six tackles against Rice ... Among his tackles against the Owls in the opener were back-to-back tackles including a third-down quarterback sack which forced Rice to punt on first play of the fourth quarter ... Reset a career high with seven tackles including one for loss while breaking up a pass against UCF ... Followed up the UCF game with a six-tackle performance at SMU which including a quarterback sack (-8 yards) and 1.5 tackles for loss (-10 yards) ... Returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown against Tulane ... The score gave Memphis a 37-16 lead late in the fourth quarter en route to a victory which began a three-game winning streak to end the season ... Established a career high with eight tackles including 1.5 for loss (-4 yards) in the Tigers' "Battle for the Bones" victory against UAB.

2011 (Freshman - Holmes CC)

Played one season (2011) at Holmes Community College after originally signing with Arkansas State in February of 2011 ... Logged 65 tackles, including 40 solo stops ... Also registered one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups.

Central High School

Four-year varsity letterman at Central High School for Coach Woodrowe Lowe ... Career numbers include 280 tackles, 16 TFL, three interceptions, nine forced fumbles and 10 pass breakups ... Named to the Opelika-Auburn News All-Area (large school) first team ... A 2010 all-state first team selection ... Finished his senior campaign with 110 tackles (65 solo), six sacks, three TFL, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles ... Had a stellar game against Shaw, registering 18 tackles in the 2010 contest ... Helped lead the Red Devils to the Alabama Class 6A state playoffs and a 9-2 record in 2010 ... Named all-bi city second team as a junior ... Rated as a Rivals.com three-star prospect for the class of 2011 ... Rated as the No. 39-ranked player in the state of Alabama by Rivals ... Also lettered two seasons in basketball.
