Reyn Willis joined the Tigers at the start of the 2011 fall camp and works with the offense.
As a member of Head Coach Justin Fuente offensive staff, he has witnessed the Tigers' improvement.
In 2014, Memphis set a season scoring record with 471 points and led the American Athletic Conference with a 36.2 points per game average. The Tigers also led the league in rushing offense in 2014, averaging 190.5 yards per game and ranked third in total offense (427.1 ypg).
As a team, the Tigers captured an American title, the program's first conference championship since 1971. Memphis compiled a 10-3 record, winning its last seven games culminating in a 55-48 double-overtime victory over BYU in the inaugural Miami Beach Bowl.
In 2013, Memphis averaged 313 yards of offense while making the to the American Athletic Conference. The Tigers had a running back rush for more yardage than any other back since the 2009 season and a quarterback who became just the second rookie to throw for more than 2,000 yards.
Willis lettered two seasons as a wide receiver at East Carolina (2008-09) after transferring from Alabama. He totaled 151 yards on nine catches and one touchdown at East Carolina. He played 26 career games for the Pirates, also logging time with the special teams unit. Willis was part of East Carolina's back-to-back C-USA championship seasons and helped the Pirates to consecutive AutoZone Liberty Bowl appearances in Memphis (2009, 2010).
A native of Raleigh, N.C., Willis redshirted at Alabama in 2005 and made his Crimson Tide debut in a win over Louisiana-Monroe. He transferred to East Carolina in 2007, but had to sit out that season in compliance with NCAA transfer policies.
Willis graduated from East Carolina in 2009 with a degree in communications. He spent the 2010 campaign as the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at Milford Academy in New Berlin, N.Y.
