  Justin Fuente, Memphis Head Coach

Opening Statement
"First off, congratulations to Temple on the victory. They showed up and beat us in every facet of the game. Matt [Temple head coach Matt Rhule] and his staff did a great job of keeping those kids committed and getting them ready to play hard. And that's how they won the game. They had a crushing defeat last week. They showed up here ready to play a football game."

On big plays in the passing game for Temple
"No. 19 [Temple wide receiver Robbie Anderson] is a great player, first of all. When they can run the ball as well as they ran it today, it's going to put a big strain on our secondary. They caught us on a couple plays in the passing game."

On the play of freshman WR/RB Sam Craft
"I was awfully proud of the way he played. I thought he showed toughness and I thought he showed commitment. I was really proud of Sam."

On how the team practiced this week
"We practiced well this week. We practiced in some tough conditions too."

  Sam Craft, Memphis Freshman WR/RB

On today's game
"We need to get ready for UConn next Saturday. We cannot dwell on this loss we had today. Temple played hard today. We have to go out to practice this week and get ready for Saturday. Temple came out and hit us hard. You never come in to a game expecting to play like this. It's up to us to bounce back. We have to stay focused from the beginning of the game, we can't come out flat."

On his three touchdown performance today
"I tried to make plays for the team and it was the best performance I've had this year. But, I am not satisfied with what I did today. As a team, we have to be ready to play next week."

  Matt Rhule, Temple Head Coach

On the Owls Defensive Play...
"I thought today was a tremendous defensive effort, 230 yards allowed. We gave up a couple deep plays and penalties did hurt us at times, but for the most part we played really good physical defense. Knocking the ball out in the red zone and we were getting to the quarterback today, which has held us back in the past. The fourth and one stop in the fourth quarter was to me what we needed all year. I was really happy for our guys to be able to make that stop and then move the ball down the field and score a touchdown. That's what we've been trying to do all year and today we did it."

One Play of Seniors...
"I thought our seniors really stepped up today. Chris Coyer, playing on an ankle most guys wouldn't and to not be able to finish the game, but to take the 75-yard touchdown and another 40-yard touchdown. It really showed our seniors wanted to win on the right note. He played when most guys wouldn't play, but that's who Chris Coyer is, he's a true Temple Owl."

On Closing Out the Game...
"I believe winning is a process. We started off the year, not always playing good football, then we started playing good football for two quarters and then for three, and then today was what we really needed. It was really satisfying to see so many guys ready to step up when given the opportunity. That's what we've been trying to do all year and while it hasn't always worked, today it did."

On Facing Memphis Defense...
"I hate to take anything away from Memphis. I think we played our offense and they played their defense. We were able to get some running yards which kept us going and then when we were in long yardage we were able to get some passes underneath which allowed us to catch and run. I know they're extremely well coached and have tremendous players, but I think today our guys found a way to make some plays. They are a great defense, we came in knowing that and we just found some rhythm."
