Former University of Memphis offensive lineman Wade Smith has been named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster. The 2013 NFL Pro Bowl will be played Jan. 27th at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

In his 10th season in the NFL and third year with the Houston Texans, Smith is a Pro Bowl selection for the first time. Since arriving in Houston ahead of the 2010 season, Smith has started 48 straight games for the Texans.

The Texans are 12-4 this season and will play host to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday.

Smith lettered four years for the University of Memphis (1999-2002). He was taken in the third year of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins and has also played for the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs during his career. In 10 seasons, Smith has played in 122 games, starting 82 contests.

Smith becomes the first Memphis Tiger to be invited to play in the NFL Pro Bowl since running back DeAngelo Williams played in the 2010 game. Former Memphis place kicker Stephen Gostkowski was named to the 2009 Pro Bowl roster.
