Those signees are: Jordan Devey (6-6, 320, OL, Snow College), Taylor Fallin (6-6, 320, OL, Hargrave Military), Zach Gholson (6-3, 250, DL, Palomar College), Kenyata Johnson (6-2, 220, LB, Hinds CC), Jamere Valentine (6-2, 210, WR, Butte College) and Perrance Ward (6-0, 205, DB, East Mississippi CC).

There were 22 high school standouts that inked with the Tigers today, including four players from Memphis who opted to stay and play for the hometown Tigers. The four Memphis signees are Charles Harris (6-2, 215, LB) and Terry Redden (6-2, 285, DT) from Whitehaven High, Kevin Green (6-1, 205, LB) out of Wooddale High and Artaves Gibson (6-1, 220, RB), who prepped at Mitchell High. A pair of quarterbacks, Taylor Reed (6-3, 210) and Domonique Harris (6-5, 225) are familiar with the Memphis Tigers. Harris prepped just across the state line at Southaven High, and Reed grew up in the Memphis area, where his father was the coach at Bartlett High, before moving to El Dorado (Ark.) High, where he led his team to three consecutive state title games.

An additional junior college transfer was signed today as offensive lineman Nick Chartain (6-5, 320) will transfer from Independence College in Kansas. Chartain will be a sophomore for the Tigers in 2011. The largest group of signees by position and weight are the offensive and defensive linemen, who make up 10 of the 29 signees. In addition to the aforementioned linemen, Porter also signed Monte Golden (6-2, 301, OL) from Northside High in Jacksonville, N.C.; Ricky Hunter (6-4, 280, DL) from Loachapoka (AL) High; Tyler Marzette (6-6, 320, OL) from Huffman High in Birmingham; Donald Pennington (6-2, 300, DL) from Amite (LA) High; and Robert Roquemore (6-6, 310, OL) from Newton High in Covington, Ga.

Porter landed four wide receivers to boost the Tiger air attack. In addition to JuCo transfer Valentine, the Tigers added Derek Howard (6-2, 190, Hahnville High), Jermaine Johnson (6-3, 170, Ellender High) and Tyriq Patrick (6-3, 190, Philadelphia (MS) High). In addition to local talent Artaves Gibson, the running game will be bolstered by backs Carl Harris and Joe Price. Harris (5-10, 190) prepped at Woodrow Wilson High in Dallas, Texas, while Price (5-9, 175) hails from Madison Central in Madison, Miss.
