MEMPHIS, TENN. - University of Memphis Head Football Coach Tommy West continued to fill specific needs for his Tiger football program, and today announced the signing of 17 future Tigers for the 2006 squad.
Included in the signing class are one of the South's most highly-rated wide receivers in Duke Calhoun of Memphis' Raleigh-Egypt High School, standout kicker Matt Reagan of Bearden High in Knoxville, and Mississippi's top-rated quarterback in Oxford High's Matt Malouf.
Locally, in addition to Calhoun, the Tigers added five stellar Shelby County players in FACS' Charlie Bryant, Briarcrest's Will Truitt and Turner West, White Station speed receiver Curtis Echols and Germantown defensive standout Lester Lawson.
