The University of Memphis football team faced blustery conditions including blowing light snow as the squad went through its second practice of spring camp Saturday morning at the Billy J. Murphy Athletic Complex.

"It was good to come out here and run around. I told them even if we did have an indoor (practice field), we still would have come outside," said head coach Justin Fuente.

The Tigers will return to the practice fields Sunday afternoon for the third of 15 workouts slated for the spring. The squad will practice in shells (helmets/shoulder pads) for the first time which will offer the team an opportunity to do more during the Sunday workout.

"It will be a more physical practice," Fuente said. "Some of the individual workouts we have been doing in just helmets will be more physical. We will do some perimeter stuff and it will be a more physical event for everyone. I'm looking forward to that aspect of it."

Despite the conditions of the day, fans took advantage of the opportunity to come out and watch the team go through its second practice. It was the final chance for the general public to watch practice prior to the spring game April 6th at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

The Tigers have three practices slated for the coming week - Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday - before the university goes on spring break the week of March 11-15.
