MEMPHIS, TENN. - University of Memphis head coach Tommy West announced today the signing of defensive lineman Maurice Holloway to a National Letter of Intent for the 2008 season.
Holloway (6-7, 300), who played for former Memphis letterman Tim Borcky at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, Fla., was a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com. "Maurice brings another big, mobile lineman into our program," said West. "I am really excited that we were able to get him signed."
A multi-sport athlete, Holloway also lettered in basketball, track and volleyball at both Lake Highland and Seminole High. He earned three letters on the football team at SHS and was named All-Conference as a sophomore and All-District as a junior. He was also tabbed by Rivals.com as one of the Top 100 prospects in Florida.
