Blue Gray Game Festivities Set For April 16

MEMPHIS, TENN. - Each year, the Blue-Gray Game signifies the end of spring practice, but it is also a chance for Tiger Nation to get together and show support for their hometown Tigers, and it's a perfect time to renew and purchase your season tickets.
The Blue-Gray Game is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. The event is free and open to the public. Most of the festivities surrounding the Blue-Gray Game will be set up on Tiger Lane, so fans are encouraged to get there early and set up for a day-long True Blue Tiger experience. Parking lots will open at 9 a.m., and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
As announced earlier, The Highland Hundred and the M Club are teaming up for a BBQ contest on April 15-16. The competition is open to both professionals and amateurs, and there will be trophies and cash prizes awarded for the winners in the ribs and shoulder category, and a cash prize for the best sauce. The winners will be announced at half-time of the game. All contestants must be registered by Friday, April 8. The $100 entry fee and entry form must be received by 5 p.m. on April 8. There will be no sign ups on site.
Rockasaurus Rex will be performing live on stage from 10:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m., with a break in between sets for performances by the U of M band and spirit squads as well as a pep rally. There will be inflatables for children set up from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The Tiger Football team will arrive at Tiger Lane at approximately 10:45 a.m., on Paul "Bear" Bryant Blvd. They will unload the buses and will sign autographs and take photos with fans from 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., Coach Larry Porter will lead Tiger Nation in a pep rally before the squad makes their way for the Tiger Walk to the locker room at approximately 11:45 a.m. Please note that the autograph session has changed from previous years, and will now be held prior to the game.
The Tiger Scholarship Fund, the U of M Alumni Association and the M Club will have tents set up for members and donors on Tiger Lane. The tents will open at 11 a.m.
The U of M Ticket office will be on-site at GATE 3 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., for fans who would like to purchase season tickets for the 2011 season, which includes six home games for as low as $100.The concession stand located near section 120 will be open.
