Tigers Wrap Up Spring Camp
April 9, 2013
The University of Memphis closed out a series of 15 spring practices on Tuesday afternoon with a light workout in helmets and shorts. The team's final workout had a continued spring theme of time focused on special teams as well as position and team work for the offense and defense.
"I think we had a good spring," said Memphis head coach Justin Fuente. "We have to be better more often. We have to have the discipline to practice the way we practiced sometimes more frequently."
Fuente stressed the same to the team following Tuesday's practice. He spoke of how after each practice he makes notations of good and bad practices.
"To me the message is we have to have the discipline - and it is not easy - the discipline and the toughness to do it right every single time," he said. "That's the difference when you get two comparable teams out there. Who can do it right more than the other person."
In addition to finishing the academic semester strong, the Tigers' focus will return to lifting and running.
Fall camp will begin in early August as Memphis begins its first season in the American Athletic Conference. The Tigers open the 2013 season on Sept. 7 by playing host to Duke.
Season ticket prices remain the same from the 2012 season with an additional home game slated for the coming season. Fans can contact the athletic ticket office at (901) 678-2331 or go online at gotigersgo.com to order season tickets.
