Stephen Gostkowski, a former all-conference football and baseball selection at the University of Memphis and the current place kicker for the New England Patriots, has been selected to be recognized for Outstanding Achievement by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.

Gostkowski will be honored at the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame's induction ceremony May 4th at the Renaissance Hotel Nashville. The latest class of Hall of Fame inductees includes former University of Memphis basketball standout Penny Hardaway.

Gostkowski is in his sixth year in the NFL and during his playing career has made an outstanding 87 percent of his field goal attempts for a team which play more than half its games each year outdoors in cold-weather cities. He has connected on 84.4 percent of his field goal attempts during his career.
