MEMPHIS, TENN. - The Tiger football team will conclude its spring session with the Blue-Gray Game on Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m., at Christian Brothers High School. The pre-game awards ceremony will begin at approximately 12:45 p.m., with the scrimmage to follow. The team will be available to sign autographs following the workout.

The 2009 Tiger Football poster will be available at the front entrance. The Renegades of Rhythm, a marching drumline that has regularly been featured at Tiger basketball games, will perform on Saturday.

Season ticket renewals for the 2009 football season will be on sale through the Athletic Department website at www.GoTigersGo.com beginning next week. Ticket prices will remain the same as last year with box seats available for $250 and prime seats set for $180. Fun Zone and U of M staff/faculty season tickets are $90. Access to the Stadium Club, which is the first level of the Liberty Bowl press box, is available for $700. Fans will be able to log into their Tiger customer account and renew their tickets securely online with no handling fee. In addition to season tickets, orders will be taken online for the 2009 Football Media Guide and for tickets to road games at MTSU, UCF, USM, Tennessee, Houston and Tulsa.

There are several other home events slated for this weekend, including the Tiger Invitational Track Meet and a weekend baseball series with Houston.

The Tiger baseball team will host the Houston Cougars in a three-game C-USA series at Millington's USA Stadium, April 17-19. The Tigers and Cougars are scheduled to play at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Memphis, which is 8-4 at home, has won four of its last five contests. With four league series remaining, the Tigers currently hold on to the eighth and final spot for the C-USA Tournament to be held in Hattiesburg, Miss.

The U of M track and field program hosts the first annual Memphis Tiger Invitational track meet on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 at the Billy J. Murphy Track Complex, which is located off of Getwell Road at the University of Memphis Park Avenue Campus. General Admission is $4.00 for adults and admission to children age 10 & under as well as U of M students with valid student I.D. is FREE.

 

 

This weekend's meet is the first meet that the Murphy Track Complex has hosted in over three years and also the first under head coach Kevin Robinson.
