Go Tigers!
Get To Know The Tigers--Eric Price

July 27, 2010

Eric Price was hired by Coach Larry Porter to serve as the Tigers' offensive coordinator, and to guide the receiving corps. The group lost record-holders Duke Calhoun and Carlos Singleton, but has plenty of talent to work with as Marcus Rucker, Cam Baker and Curtis Johnson return with game action under their belts, and transfers Dejarrius Adams, Jermaine McKenzie and Billy Foster will add depth and competition at that position.

Price brings with him a wealth of knowledge from coaching on both the professional and collegiate levels. He most recently served as the wide receivers coach with the Kansas City Chiefs and also was on staff with the New York Jets in 2001 and 2002. Price has served as an offensive coordinator on the collegiate level under his father, Mike Price, at UTEP (2004-07). During his time with the Miners, UTEP participated in the 2004 Houston Bowl and the 2005 GMAC Bowl.

Price sat down with Memphis Tiger Vision and spoke about how excited he is about coaching again on the collegiate level as well as what his expectations are for the 2010 Tigers. He also talked about what it will be like on Sept. 25 when he is coaching opposite his father, for the first time ever, as the Tigers travel to El Paso to take on the Miners in Conference USA action.
