Get To Know The Tigers--Galen Scott
August 2 , 2010 Galen Scott made the move from one Conference USA program to another, joining the Tigers after a two-year stint with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The move also brings him back the position he played at Illinois State - linebackers. Scott worked the 2008 season with Tulsa's outside linebackers and safeties before taking over the corners in 2009. Prior to moving to Tulsa, Scott had a seven-year run as an assistant at his alma mater Illinois State. He played linebacker from 1997-2000 and was named an assistant coach for safeties in 2001. From 2002-04, he guided ISU linebackers and was elevated to defensive coordinator for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. He was also named the AFCA I-AA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2005. Scott sat down with Memphis Tiger Vision and spoke about what brought him to Memphis, what he loves most about defense and how to keep local recruits in Memphis.
