Fanfest set for August 31 at Liberty Bowl
Aug 21, 2013
MEMPHIS -While numerous schools across the country are participating in their 2013 season-opening football game on August 31, the Memphis Tiger squad and athletic department will use the date for a "dry-run" in preparation for the Tigers' opener against Duke University on September 7 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
Fans are invited to practice their tailgating skills along Tiger Lane beginning at 11 AM and to enjoy musical entertainment with a live DJ. Face painting, balloon artists and inflatables will be available for children and merchandise and season tickets will be on sale.
At 12 noon, fans will be able to enter the stadium, where the 2013 Tiger squad will be put through a mock game day walk-through. The game day walk-through is expected to last approximately one and a half hours.
The first 1,000 fans that enter the stadium to watch the team, will receive a free Memphis Tiger bracelet. Fans will be invited on the field at the conclusion of the walk-through, at approximately 1:30 PM, to take part in annual FanFest activities. Coaches and players will be available for autographs and photographs with fans.
