Tigers Start Game Preparations For Opener Versus Mississippi State
Aug. 23, 2010
MEMPHIS, TENN. - In a break from the previous two weeks of training camp, the Tigers had just a short walk-through in the morning and then a full practice in the afternoon. The Tigers did not come out in any pads this morning as they utilized about an hour to walk through play situations at the Murphy Athletic Complex. In the afternoon session, the squad was in shells and got in about two and a half hours of work. "We had a very productive practice today," said Head Coach Larry Porter. "The next two days are more pointed at the things that we didn't get accomplished last week. I thought we came out with great intensity and tempo and the guys were a lot faster." Porter also explained that the team will be moving out of South Hall tomorrow which signifies the official "breaking of camp." The Tigers open the season at Mississippi State on Saturday, Sept. 4. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m., and the game will be carried by ESPNU. Coach Larry Porter's first weekly press luncheon will be held next Monday, Aug. 30, and will be streamed live starting at noon at www.GoTigersGo.com through the Memphis Tiger Vision All-Access subscription service. Memphis Tiger Vision is also the site for live streaming of select games not carried by national television as well as the official Tiger Radio Network broadcast of games.
