Military Personnel Invited to Football Game Saturday

MEMPHIS, TENN. - In an effort to say a special ... "Thank You" ... to the members of America's military, the University of Memphis will open the gates at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium this weekend for active members of the military and their immediate families.
"This is something we would like to do to honor those men and women who serve our country in so many ways," said Memphis Athletic Director R.C. Johnson. "This has been a very emotional week for our nation and during these tense times, we need to give these individuals, who protect our country, a chance to relax and spend time with their families".
The Memphis versus South Florida football game will be open to any active member of the United States military. Military personnel will have to present their active military identification card to gain admission for themselves and their immediate family members.
Kickoff for the game is set for 7 PM, Saturday, September 22. It is asked that military guest and their families use Gate 2 at Liberty Bowl Memoriqal Stadium.
