ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tiger football team took to the practice fields at Northeast High School Wednesday morning and worked out for an hour and a half in preparation for the first annual magicJack St. Petersburg Bowl.

The squad practiced while many of the high school students sat in the stands and observed the workout. Earlier in the morning, the squad met at the hotel in areas set up as meeting/video rooms to go over the game plan. Later this evening, the bowl has arranged a Beach Bash for both teams at the TradeWinds Island Resort from 3-6 p.m. The event that is open to the public will feature a team talent show, Sexy Legs Contest, a giant sand sculpture photo opportunity, a tailgate cookout and a giant beachfront water slide.

The Memphis Alumni Association also announced its True Blue Pep Rally to be held on Saturday beginning at 2:30 p.m. (EST). The event will be in Lot 7 at Tropicana Field adjacent to the Tailgate Extravaganza and Fan Fest.

The game will be carried live on ESPN2 on Saturday, Dec. 20 with Sean McDonough, Chris Spielman and Rob Stone handling the broadcast for the national network. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. local time. The game is also slated for a rebroadcast on CSS on Dec. 24 at 2:30 p.m. ET and on Dec. 25 at 9 p.m. ET.
