Tigers Make Visit to Children's Hospital

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Members of the University of Memphis football team, cheer squad and Pouncer made a visit to All Children's Hospital on Friday morning in St. Petersburg to bring smiles and gifts to the patients.
Seniors Will Hudgens, Clinton McDonald and Brandon Pearce along with juniors Curtis Steele and Brett Toney represented the Tigers on the visit. They were joined by six-time NFL Pro Bowler and former Tampa Bay Buccaneer star Mike Alstott who is the Honorary Chairman of the inaugural magicJack St. Petersburg Bowl.
The group traveled around the hospital spending time visiting with the patients and their families, signing autographs, taking pictures and handing out Memphis sunglasses and mini footballs.
The Tigers will face South Florida on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (EST) in the magicJack St. Petersburg Bowl at Tropicana Field that is televised live on ESPN2.
Fans are invited to participate Friday afternoon at a Beach Bash at the TradeWinds Island Resort beginning at 3 p.m. that will include fans, band, cheerleaders and mascots from both schools for an afternoon of fun and festivities. The event is open and free to the public.
Later Friday evening, a street festival and pep rally will take place in downtown St. Petersburg on Central Avenue beginning at 5:30 p.m. The evening will include live bands and interactive games/displays. Bowl tickets, merchandise and food and beverages will be available. The event is open and free to the public.
