Monday's 2004 Southeastern Louisiana Beau Chene Collegiate Classic was canceled due to unplayable course conditions from severe weather that moved into the area overnight and in the morning hours.

An attempt was made early Monday to start the event but as conditions continued to deteriorate, Southeastern head coach Tim Baldwin canceled play.

"It's certainly unfortunate that we had to cancel this year," remarked Baldwin. "But the course had already soaked up significant rain from late Sunday and early Monday and with weather conditions worsening, we had no other option."

The cancelation was only the second in the 15-year history of the event. The tournament was also canceled due to weather in 1997.

The Tigers' next tournament will be the Palmetto Classic, Mar. 15-16th, hosted by USC - Aiken.
