Men's Golf Tied for 10th Through One

BATON ROUGE, La. - The University of Memphis men's golf team is tied with Mississippi State for 10th overall following the first round of the LSU Spring Invitational. Host LSU is tied with Lamar with the team lead at 289, while Arkansas State's Wixson Huffstetler leads the individual competition with a six under par 66. Memphis is being led by junior David Jeans. Jeans is tied for 13th after firing par in his opening round. Jeans shot 34 on the opening nine before a back nine 38 relegated him to a first round 72. Sophomore Allan Thomas is tied for 20th overall one stroke behind Jeans. The course, a 7190 yard par-72 found 12 golfers firing under par, while seven were even through the first round.
