March 2, 2014

DADE CITY, Fla. - Senior Will Pearson led the Memphis men’s golf with an 8-under-par 64 stroke performance after the first round of the USF Invitational. Pearson’s round of 64 is tied for the second best round of 18-holes in Memphis men’s golf history. As a team, the Tigers shot a 277, which ties the 8th best team round in program history.

Pearson’s round ties Tim Roop, who shot a 64 at the Glenn Red Jacoby Tournament during the 1990-91 season. Junior Cory Gaylord and senior Erwan Vieilledent each shot rounds of 2-under-par 70. Freshman Lars Van Meijel finished 1-over-par at 73 and sophomore Thomas Perrot had round of six-over with 78 strokes.
