No. 38 @MemphisMGolf Finishes Fourth at Auburn Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, Ala. – The Memphis men’s golf program finished action at the Auburn Tiger Invitational Tuesday afternoon, shooting a 290 (+2) in the third round and finishing in fourth place.
Sophomore Thomas Perrot shot a team low for the tournament with a 70 (-2) in the third round, lifting him to a tie for 22nd place individually, with a score of 221 (+5) for the tournament.
Junior Cory Gaylord led the team in day one of the tournament, with back-to-back rounds of 71 (-1), but would post a 73 (+1) to slip to 215 (-1) and a tie for ninth place. Freshman Lars Van Meijel tied with Perrot for 22nd after posting a 221 (+5) overall with a third round score of a 74 (+2).
Will Pearson matched Gaylord on the day with a 73, finishing the tournament one stroke behind van Meijel and Perrot as the senior a 222 (+6). Senior Erwan Vieilledent finished the tournament with a 238 (+22) and tied for 66th place, after shooting a 79 (+7) Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore Florian Loutre was one of two Tigers to shoot under par in the third round, with a 71 (-1) as the underclassman competed as an individual, finishing tied for 28th.
The Tigers will have two weeks off as they prepare for their spring home tournament set to begin Monday, March 31. The Tigers will welcome 14 teams, as Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Belmont, Cincinnati, Cleveland State, Dayton, Georgetown, Louisiana, Missouri State, Oakland University, South Alabama, Western Kentucky, UMKC and Xavier will all compete at the Colonial Country Club.
