Round One Results Get Acrobat Reader

GOODYEAR, Ariz.—Jonathan Fly fired a two-under-par 70 in the first round of the Desert Shootout to help the University of Memphis golf grab a share of 10th place after one round. Fly is in a tie for 15th position individually.

 

Jack Belote posted an one-under-par 71 in the first round at the Palm Valley Golf Course (Par 72; 7,015 Yards) and is tied for 25th place. Carlson Cox, competing in his first event of the spring, carded a two-over-par 73 in the first round and is in a tie for 50th. Steve Lee (74) and Lexus Keoninh (78) are in 63rd and 91st, respectively.

Pacific's Alex Johnson shot a six-under par 66, leading the Tigers to a two-stroke lead at 11-under par 277. Kansas State (279) is second, followed by Eastern Michigan (280), VCU (281), Wichita State (282) and Xavier (282) rounding out the top five. The Tigers shot 288 and are tied with Nebraska.

Johnson’s 66 gave him a one stroke lead over Brandon Lemons (Eastern Michigan) and Joe Kinney (Kansas State) heading into the second round.

The second round of the 2010 Desert Shootout will be played Friday morning with the first Denver player teeing off at 8:45 a.m. MT. All Friday tee times were moved up 30 minutes. Saturday's final round is set for a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. MT.
