Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

GOODYEAR, Ariz.—The University of Memphis golf team posted a final round 304 at the Palm Valley Golf Course (Par 71; 7,015 Yards) to finish in 12th position in the 2010 Desert Shootout. Lexus Keoninh carded a 75 to lead the Tigers in the final round.

Keoninh finished with a three-round total of 229, good for an 81st place showing. Steve Lee (74-69-76) and Jack Belote (71-71-77) finished in a tie for 37th, the lowest finish in the even by a Memphis golfer. Jonathan Fly (70-76-76) and Carlson Cox (73-74-77) finished in 58th and 61st, respectively.

Wichita State defeated Kansas in a playoff to capture the team title. Both teams posted nine-under-par (855) tournament totals. Eastern Michigan (858), BYU (859), and Pacific (860) finished in third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

Wichita State’s Dustin Garza turned in a 14-under-par (202) tournament total to capture the individual title over Kansas’s Nate Barbee (11-under-par; 205). Brandon Lemons of Eastern Michigan (nine-under-par; 207) finished in third.

The Tigers have two weeks off before returning to the course April 5-6 when they will compete in the Ole Miss Intercollegiate.
