Memphis Men Tied For 15th At Furman Intercollegiate

Greenville, SC - The University of Memphis Tiger golf team tied for 15th in the 2002 Furman Intercollegiate after posting a final round team score of 305-912. Virginia Tech won the tournament with a score of 868. The 19th-ranked Hokies of Virginia Tech fired a final-round 284 on Sunday to win a second consecutive Furman Intercollegiate title with a three-round 868 total. Furman and Coastal Carolina, which entered the final round tied for the lead, each carded a 289 to finish in a tie for second, four strokes off the Hokie pace. Brendon De Jonge of Virginia Tech also won the individual championship with a five under par score of 211.
