No. 40 @MemphisMGolf Runs Away with Memphis Intercollegiate Victory

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis men's golf team finished action Tuesday afternoon at the Memphis Intercollegiate, taking home the first place finish by out shooting the next closest team by 15 strokes.
Three Tigers finished tied for the top finish on the team, senior Will Pearson, junior Cory Gaylord and sophomore Florian Loutre, each finished with a score of 218 (+2) for the tournament. Freshman Lars Van Meijel shot an even par on Tuesday, giving him a 223 (+7). Sophomore Thomas Perrot shot a 230 for the three rounds (+14), giving him a tie for 39 place.
The Tigers had three individuals competing in their home tournament, David Long finished the third round with a 77 (+5) giving him a 224 for the tournament and putting him in the top 20, with a tie for 18th place. John Luke Tyner finished with a 230 (+14) after shooting a 75 (+3) on Tuesday, his score was good enough to give him a tie for 39th place overall. Eithel McGowen rounded out the scores for all the Tiger golfers, scoring 81 on Tuesday and finishing with a 237 (+21)
The Tigers finished with an 874 (+10), 15 shots ahead of second place South Alabama who finished with 889 (+25). Missouri State had the low round for the day, shooting a 292 (+4), but the Bears finished in the no. 7 spot overall with a 902 (+38).
Haraldur Magnus of Lousiana finished first in the tournament, scoring his second round of 70 (-2) for the week and giving him 215 (-1) overall, two strokes ahead of Gaylord, Pearson and Loutre.
The Tigers will return to action Monday, April 7 when they travel to the Old Waverly Intercollegiate at West Point, Miss.
