No. 37 @MemphisMGolf Finishes Rain Shortened Day of Old Waverly Collegiate Championship

WEST POINT, Miss. – The Memphis men’s golf team completed one round of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship Monday, with the second round being suspended after the day began late due to inclement weather. The Tigers finished the round with a 290 (+2), six strokes behind first place Cincinnati who shot 284 (-4) in the first round.
The second round was started by not completed, with most teams only needing to play three holes to complete their round. Scores for the second round do not become official until after the round is completed.
Florian Loutre continued his strong play, shooting a 71 (-1), tied for the fourth best round of the day. Cory Gaylord finished with an even 72, followed closely by Lars Van Meijel who finished with a 73 (+1). Will Pearson and Thomas Perrot both shot 74 (+2) in the first round, putting them tied for 32nd place, with 42 golfers shooting 74 or better in the field Monday.
Play will continue at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning with the completion of the 2nd round. Perrot currently leads the Tigers with a 2-under-par score after playing 15 holes of the second round. As a team the Tigers currently are 4-over-par for the round.
