Memphis Posts 848 (-16) 54-Hole Total in River Landing Intercollegiate

WALLACE, N.C. - The University of Memphis held its ground and finished third after turning in a seven-under-par 281 in the final round of the River Landing Intercollegiate. Memphis turned in a 16-under-par tournament total 848 (275-292-281) and finished seven shots behind tournament champion and co-host East Carolina (283-278-280). Liberty (278-277-289) finished third. "Except for nine holes yesterday, we played really well," University of Memphis head coach Grant Robbins said. "I'm proud of the 16-under-par total and that we beat two top-25 teams (Virginia and NC State)." Jonathan Fly (67-74-72) and Steve Lee (69-74-70) each posted 54-hole totals of 213 to tie for 11th position individually. Grant Milner (70-74-70) finished in a tie for 14th, while Jack Belote rebounded from a second-round 78 to post a three-under-par, final-round 69 and finish 18th. Lexus Keoninh posted rounds of 73-70-75 and finished in a tie for 22nd.
Josh Brock (66-67-68--201) of UNC Wilmington carded three straight rounds in the 60's to claim the individual crown by two strokes over Albin Choi (69-68-66) of North Carolina State. David Watkins (69-68-70) from champion ECU finished third. Memphis now has nearly three weeks off before traveling to Texarkana, Ark. for the Conference USA Championship.
