Wallace N.C. - The University of Memphis men's golf team is in sixth place after eighteen holes of the River Landing Intercollegiate being held in Wallace N.C. and hosted by North Carolina State University. The Tigers shot 292 as a team on Friday and are just eight strokes off the lead.

Senior Robbie Greenwell and junior Brad Benjamin paced the Tigers in the opening round each shooting an even-par 72. The duo is tied for 14th. Senior Ian Rochester shot a 73 and sophomore Brandon Bunn and senior Kyle Ritchie shot a 75 and 79 respectively.

Florida State and Duke lead the field of 15 teams after eighteen holes each shooting a team total of 284. Webb Simpson of Wake Forest is the individual leader after 18 holes shooting a round of six-under-par on Friday.

The Tigers will look to carry their strong opening performance into round two on Saturday. Live stats will be available on www.golfstat.com.
