No. 41 @MemphisMGolf Finishes Play at the Western Intercollegiate

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The University of Memphis men’s golf team finished play at the 68th Western Intercollegiate Sunday, shooting 362 (+12) and finishing in 13th place.
Cory Gaylord shot a 67 (-3), which tied him for the third best round in the tournament. Gaylord finished at 214 (+4) and tied for 26th place.
Lars Van Meijel had his best round of the weekend, shooting a 69 (-1), he finishes the tournament with a score of 221 (+11) and tied for 54th place.
Will Pearson finished the tournament with a 215 (+5), one stroke behind Gaylord for top spot for the Tigers. Pearson shot a 71 (+1) in the final round and tied for 33rd place.
David Long finished the tournament tied for 74th place with a 225 (+15), the freshman had the fourth best score on the weekend for the Tigers. Thomas Perrot rounded out the scoring for the Tigers Sunday, shooting a 76 (+6), putting him in 87th place. Florian Loutre was disqualified Sunday, having his score forfeited. The sophomore shot two rounds of 74 on Saturday.
No. 4 Stanford ran away with the tournament win, beating No. 17 Washington by 16 strokes.
The Tigers will next be in action Sunday, April 27 when they start action at the American Athletic Conference Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla.
