The University of Memphis men's golf team improved their team score by seven strokes during the second round but fell into 11th place at the Conference USA Golf Championships being held at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Florida. Nationally ranked TCU continues to lead the event after 36 holes with a score of four-under par 572.

Memphis senior Alan Weant carded an even par round of 72 to go with his opening round 73 to lead all Tiger golfers. He is currently tied for third place among all individuals. Allan Thomas is tied for 39th with a score of 153, while David Jeans is tied for 49th with a total of 155.

Adam Meyer of TCU, who held the individual lead after he carded a 68 over the first 18 holes of play, shot a 69 in the second round and has a seven stroke advantage entering the final round of competition. Meyer' teammates Colby Beckstrom and David Schultz are tied for third at 145 along with Weant.

TCU holds an 15-stroke lead over second place Charlotte. The 49er's posted a 286 to tie for the tournament low round and moved from fifth place to second. Southern Mississippi is in third place, while UAB and South Florida round out the top five.
